Palm Desert sits at the heart of the Coachella Valley's hundred-plus courses, with flawless winter weather and mountain views on every hole. January through March is peak season with packed tee sheets. Summer is brutally hot but nearly windless at dawn, and rates drop to a fraction of winter prices.
Palm Desert's golf calendar is shaped less by temperature extremes than by when — and how rarely — rain actually falls. The entire year adds up to just 25 precip days, and they cluster hard in winter: January through March accounts for 14 of them, with March alone hitting 6. That cluster matters because desert soils drain fast, but back-to-back wet weeks in late winter can leave fairways softer than visitors expect during what everyone calls peak season.

What that means practically: from late April through early October you are almost guaranteed firm, fast conditions underfoot.
