Spring and fall split The Woodlands golf calendar differently than the temperatures alone suggest, and the difference between them is sharper than it first appears. April looks ideal on paper — highs of 78°F, lows around 60°F — but it ties March as the second-rainiest stretch of the year at 18 precip days each. October flips that script entirely: same comfortable high of 82°F, but only 11 precip days, the driest month on the calendar.
Summer here is not a matter of toughing it out. By July, average lows are 76°F — meaning the overnight low barely dips below what the site considers the top of the comfortable range. August pushes average highs to 94°F. The pine canopy along the corridors keeps wind calm (September averages just 8.7 mph), but it also seals in the humidity. Dawn tee times in June and July are a real adaptation, not a preference. Fall wins the shoulder-season contest, cleanly.
March and April each average 18 precip days, making spring the rainiest stretch of the year. Highs climb from 73°F in March to 78°F in April, squarely in the comfortable zone, but cart-path-only conditions are common. Winds peak in March at 12.1 mph — the windiest month — which at least helps dry things out between fronts.
