Orlando's golf calendar is shaped less by temperature extremes and more by when the rain falls — and how often. December is the driest month at just 10 precip days, while July and August each rack up 29, meaning fairways in midsummer are rarely firm for long. That pattern matters: soft turf after daily afternoon thunderstorms plays differently than the tighter, faster conditions you find from December through February.
The wet season runs roughly May through September, with precip days climbing from 18 in May to a peak of 29 by July. Once frontal activity picks up in fall and winter, rain becomes more episodic — heavier one day, gone the next — which lets courses drain and recover. If firm fairways and predictable morning conditions are your priority, the cooler months deliver both.
March averages 12 precip days and an 82°F high, still manageable, but April jumps to 13 precip days and brings the year's strongest average peak winds at 13.2 mph. Mornings can be genuinely comfortable with lows around 61–63°F, but sea-breeze activity starts intensifying and afternoon storms arrive earlier by May when precip days hit 18.
