Spring and fall are the obvious targets for golf in Tulsa, but the case for each is more complicated than it looks. April feels ideal on paper — mild highs of 70°F, trees budding, courses in good shape — yet it's the windiest month of the year at 14.3 mph average peak wind and logs 14 precip days. May turns downright warm at 78°F but brings 17 precip days, the wettest month on the calendar. Fall, by contrast, tightens things up considerably: September and October average only 9–10 precip days, winds ease to 10–12 mph, and highs stay in the comfortable 73–85°F range.
Summer is where Tulsa separates itself from northern markets — and not always favorably. July and August push average highs to 92°F and 90°F, with overnight lows barely dipping below 73–75°F. That combination of heat and humidity makes afternoon rounds genuinely unpleasant, often pushing real-feel temperatures well past what the numbers suggest. The site's ideal temperature band tops out at 80°F, meaning summer afternoons routinely exceed it by 10-plus degrees. For a visitor choosing between seasons, late September through October is the clearest window: manageable winds, few rain days, and highs that finally land in the 60–80°F sweet spot.

July and August average highs of 92°F and 90°F, with lows that stay in the 73–75°F range overnight — meaning courses never fully cool down. The one genuine upside is wind: July and August are the calmest months at 9.8 mph, which at least removes one scoring penalty. If you're playing in summer, sunrise or early-morning rounds are the only real option.

July averages a high of 92°F and a low of 75°F, meaning the course stays warm even after sunrise. The humidity common to northeast Oklahoma amplifies the heat index well past what the air temperature shows. Most experienced Tulsa golfers shift to tee times before 9 a.m. from late June through August to get any real comfort on the course.
May is the toughest month to schedule around — 17 precip days means there's a high chance at least part of any multi-day visit gets rained out.
